Import Roster

Import flight schedules from your device calendar.

How to Use#

  1. Select your roster format from the list
  2. Enter a prefix if required (used by AIMS and CrewConnect roster formats)
  3. Choose the calendar source – pick which device calendar contains your roster events
  4. Set a date range for the import period
  5. Tap Import

Event Classification#

Calendar events are automatically classified into the following categories:

  • Flights – scheduled flight duties
  • Ground activities – training sessions, meetings, briefings
  • Leave – holiday, rest days, days off
  • Sick days – sick leave entries
  • Reserve – standby and reserve duties
  • Simulator sessions – simulator training blocks

Crew List & PIC Name#

For roster formats that include crew information (such as CrewConnect and Alexis), FlightLog automatically extracts:

  • Crew list – stored in the flight's Crew field
  • Function on board – your role on the flight (CPT, FO, OPL, etc.)
  • Aircraft type – when available in the roster event
  • PIC NAME – automatically extracted from the crew list (the name following "CPT :" in the crew data)

Supported Formats#

Aeroflot, AeroLogic, AIMS, Air Austral, Air New Zealand, Alexis, Austrian Airlines, BlueOne, Condor, crew2crew.de, CrewConnect, CrewLounge Connect, CrewMoto (Transavia), Crew Access (CAE), Iberia, Jeppesen, Leon, Manual (iCal), NetLine, and RosterBuster.

Condor#

FlightLog reads Condor calendar duties. Flights and simulator sessions are imported; all other ground activities (check-in, pick-up, days off, standby, etc.) are skipped. From each duty it extracts:

  • Aircraft registration and type
  • Your function – detected from the crew list by matching your pilot lastname (Captain → PIC, First Officer → SIC)
  • Instructor / check roles – checker and line-check phases are recognised (logged as instructor time, with or without PIC as appropriate)
  • Take-off / landing credit – counted when you actually performed them

Leon#

Roster published by the Leon scheduling platform as a calendar subscription. FlightLog reads the flight events and extracts the flight number, airports, aircraft registration and block times. Non-flight duties are ignored.

Crew Access#

Roster published by the Crew Access portal (CAE – formerly Sabre AirCentre) as a calendar subscription. FlightLog reads the flight events – title ✈️ Flight: CDG→MPL – and extracts the airports from the title and the flight number and your function from the event body (Flight Number, Position: OPL → SIC, CDB/CPT → PIC, instructor roles → instructor). Non-flight duties are ignored.

Manual (iCal)#

For events you create yourself – by hand, with an iPhone Shortcut, or from any calendar app – choose the Manual format. FlightLog reads from each event:

  • the flight number – an airline code and 1 to 4 digits (CA4567, AF 1234), anywhere in the title;
  • the departure and arrival airports – a pair such as CTU-LGG, CTU → LGG, CDG/JFK or from CTU to LGG, IATA or ICAO codes, found in the title, else in the Location field, else in the Notes;
  • the departure and arrival times – the event start and end.

Upper or lower case does not matter. Examples of events that import correctly:

TitleLocationResult
CA4567 CTU-LGGCA4567, CTU → LGG
Flight CA4567 from CTU to LGGCA4567, CTU → LGG
CA4567CTU-LGGCA4567, CTU → LGG
AF 1234 ZUUU-EBLGAF1234, ZUUU → EBLG

CrewMoto (Transavia)#

CrewMoto is the roster format used by Transavia. FlightLog automatically detects your function from the crew list by matching your pilot lastname. If no role is found in the crew data and no role is set in Settings, the function defaults to PIC.

BlueOne Format#

The BlueOne format supports three event types:

  • FLT – flight duties
  • SIM – simulator sessions
  • GCO – ground course / office activities

Ryanair Import#

In addition to calendar-based import, FlightLog supports a Ryanair email paste mode:

  1. Paste the Ryanair roster summary email content into the import field
  2. Enter your crew code to identify your position
  3. FlightLog parses the email and extracts flights, duties, and standby periods
  4. Crew list parsing – crew members are extracted from the email, and the PIC is automatically detected
  5. Multi-day rotation detection – consecutive duties are grouped into rotations

Event Type Auto-Classification#

All imported events are automatically classified into one of the following categories based on keywords and patterns in the roster data:

  • Flight – scheduled flight duties
  • Simulator – SIM training blocks
  • Ground – training sessions, meetings, briefings
  • Leave – holiday, rest days, days off
  • Sick – sick leave entries
  • Reserve – standby and reserve duties

Night Time at Import#

Night time is automatically calculated during roster import based on departure/arrival coordinates, date, and times – no manual entry needed.

Auto-Create Aircraft#

When a roster event includes an aircraft type not yet in your logbook, FlightLog automatically creates the aircraft entry so flights are immediately linked to the correct type.
