Flight Time Limitations

FlightLog tracks your flight time and duty time against regulatory limits in real time, helping you stay compliant with FTL regulations.

Gauges#

The FTL screen displays visual progress bars for:

  • Flight time – current accumulated flight time vs. the applicable limit
  • Duty time – current accumulated duty time vs. the applicable limit

Each gauge shows:

  • Current value
  • Limit value
  • Remaining time

Regulation-Specific Limits#

Flight time gauges adapt to your selected regulation:

RegulationPeriodsLimits
EASA28 days, 12 months100h / 900h
FAA28 days, 365 days100h / 1000h
TCCA28 days, 90 days, 365 days112h / 300h / 1000h
CAAC7 days, 28 days, 90 days, 365 days40h / 100h / 270h / 900h
CASA (Australia)28 days, 90 days, 365 days100h / 300h / 900h

Color Coding#

ColorStatus
GreenSafe – well within limits
OrangeApproaching – nearing the limit
RedNear limit – close to or at the maximum

28-Day Projection Chart#

Below the gauges, a chart displays your projected flight time over a rolling 28-day window:

  • Past data shows actual recorded flight time.
  • Future data shows projected flight time based on scheduled flights.
  • A limit line indicates the regulatory maximum.
  • A "NOW" marker separates past from future.
  • Segments that exceed the limit line are highlighted with over-limit warnings.

Next Rotation PRO#

The Next Rotation card shows detailed analysis of your upcoming duty period:

  • PEQ selector – choose 2, 3, or 4 crew members to adjust FDP limits
  • Flight list – all sectors in the rotation with times
  • Report time – local report time, calculated from the scheduled departure time (not actual departure) per regulatory requirements
  • FDP analysis – current vs. maximum Flight Duty Period with color-coded status
  • Extension (EXT) – available extension time when applicable
  • Latest departure / arrival – computed butee times in UTC
  • Taxi times – taxi-out/in and latest takeoff/landing times

All FDP and butee calculations use DST-aware UTC offsets, automatically resolved from the airport timezone and the flight date. This ensures correct results year-round (e.g. a winter departure from Paris uses UTC+1, while a summer departure uses UTC+2).

90-Day Currency PRO#

The dashboard displays a 90-Day Currency card that tracks your landing recency per aircraft type, as required by regulations (e.g. 3 takeoffs and landings in 90 days).

  • Shows days until next landing is due for each aircraft type you fly
  • Tap the card to see the full breakdown with currency status per type
  • Color-coded: green (current), orange (expiring soon), red (expired)

Flight Time Calculation#

Flight time gauges use actual OUT timestamps (not scheduled departure times) for computing accumulated flight time, ensuring accuracy when actual times differ from the schedule.

Timezone Handling#

All FTL date calculations use outschedDate (the scheduled departure date) as the reference, preventing timezone shifts that could occur when using actual departure times across different time zones.
