Docs › Getting Started

First Launch

After installing FlightLog, take a few minutes to set up your profile and download the airport database. This ensures accurate logbook entries from the start.

1. Configure Your Profile#

Open Settings from the side menu and fill in your details:

  • Name – your full name as it appears on your license.
  • Role – select your function:
    • CPT – Captain
    • FO – First Officer
    • OPL – Cruise Relief Pilot
    • INS – Instructor
    • STG – Student / Trainee
  • Home Base – your primary airport (ICAO code, e.g. LFPG).

2. Download the Airport Database#

Navigate to the Airports page from the side menu. You need to download the airport database so that FlightLog can auto-complete airport codes, names, and coordinates.

Choose one of two options:

OptionContentsSize
RegularMain airports with runways longer than 1500 mSmaller download
CompleteAll airports, airfields, and heliports worldwideLarger download

3. Migrating from FlightLog v2#

If you previously used FlightLog v2, your data can be transferred seamlessly:

  1. Server Sync – If you had server sync enabled in v2, go to Sync and sign in with the same account. Your flights, aircraft, and settings will be restored.
  2. Dropbox Sync – If you used Dropbox, connect your Dropbox account from the Sync page and pull your latest backup.
