CRAR PRO
Country Rules & Regulations. An interactive world map of the Flight Information Regions (FIRs) crossed by your route, with the operational reference for each region.
Access it from any flight detail page via the CRAR button (next to ENROUTE).
Map#
A dark world map overlays every FIR boundary. The FIRs your flight route passes through are shown in context, with the route drawn on top.
- Land FIRs are drawn in blue.
- Oceanic FIRs are drawn in a distinct lighter blue, so oceanic crossings stand out from continental airspace.
The map uses offline tiles, so it works without a connection once the data is downloaded.
Tapping a FIR#
Tap any FIR to select it (it highlights in amber) and open its reference panel below the map. The panel shows:
- FIR identity – name, ICAO code, type (FIR / UIR), upper limit and ATC address.
- Recap table – a summary of the region's operational parameters (e.g. contact requirements, CPDLC, ADS-C, SLOP, emergency procedures).
- Operational reference – chapters and sections covering enroute navigation, separation, communication and country-specific rules, colour-coded by importance (red / amber / green).
Oceanic and domestic areas that share the same ICAO code (e.g. Gander Oceanic vs Gander Domestic) are selected and shown independently.
Data & updates#
The CRAR reference database is downloaded from the server and refreshed on the AIRAC cycle, like the airport, approaches and waypoints databases. You can also refresh it manually from Settings → Update airport database.
If you open CRAR before the database has been downloaded, the panel prompts you to update the database first.
The level of detail available depends on your subscription and profile.
Disclaimer#
CRAR is a situational-awareness aid. Always cross-check against your official operational documentation and current NOTAMs. Never use it as the sole source for dispatch or in-flight decisions.
